There’s only one reason someone would be “blue” while sipping a margarita: blue curaçao! While this liqueur will add a bluish tinge to this beloved beverage, it won’t significantly alter the flavor. So, if you’re looking for a cool way to add some color to margarita hour, you’ve got to check out this fantastic recipe.
For an extra dose of calm, please don’t forget to add a dropperful of Tribe’s premier CBD oil. Our high-quality hemp is sure to add plenty of mellow to this margarita variation.
CBD Blue Margarita Recipe
As mentioned in the intro, blue curaçao is what makes the blue margarita, well, blue! However, since curaçao is an orange-flavored liqueur, it’s not too different from triple sec. Indeed, the blue color that’s added to curaçao is flavorless.
Most drinkers claim curaçao is sweeter than triple sec, which is why we omitted agave syrup in our recipe. Since most curaçao brands are sweet enough, we don’t feel you need too many additional sweeteners. If it’s your first time using blue curaçao, you may want to check the sugar content of various brands to find one that best suits your palate.
By the way, you don’t need to use blue curaçao to alter your margarita’s color. For instance, you could use your favorite triple sec and add a few drops of blue food coloring. As we always recommend, you should use ingredients that taste right to you.

Now that you’ve bought a bottle of blue curaçao, you may be wondering what to do with it…besides making margaritas, of course! While most people don’t sip blue curaçao on its own, it’s easy to sneak it into other cocktails. Indeed, anything that already calls for orange liqueur could be subbed with blue curaçao.
There are also plenty of stand-alone cocktails that call for this ingredient. For instance, Tribe CBD recently posted recipes for the Blue Hawaii, Swimming Pool, and Electric Lemonade. Be sure to try each of these recipes whenever you’re in the mood for a blue drink.
Another nice thing about blue curaçao is that it usually has a long shelf-life. Unlike ingredients like vermouth, you could keep blue curaçao in your cabinet for a few months or years without significant issues. Of course, please be sure to tightly close the lid on your orange curaçao to prevent any air from degrading its quality.
Could Tribe CBD Help Cure The Blues?

Just remember that CBD is no replacement for visiting a professional counselor. If you’re considering adding CBD to your mental health regimen, it’s best to let a certified doctor know and carefully track your results.
