Oasis Diamond Plates are weld-cladded plates with a composite layer consisting of a base material EN 10025/ mild steel S235JRG2 and an overlay
material according to DIN 8555, alloy-group 10. The wear-resistance is determined by the micro structure of the welded area. The
formation of primarily solidifying chromium, noibium, boron carbides as well as the hardness of the eutectic matrix are the basis for the high
resistance against severe wear mechanisms. The hard Surfacing is carried out in single or multi layer technique. The weld
deposit thickness is 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 and 12mm. Base material is a mild steel plate of 1500mm x 3000mm size with thickness 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20 &
25mm. Dimensions of the hard-surfacing are 1220 x 2740mm which corresponds to 3.34 m2 The fully robotised process, flux cored special wires
from Germany and the manufacturing process at OWT provides unique micro structure to the weld cladded area. All the carbides from a vertical pattern
providing enough barrier to wear medium, giving extremely high abrasion & erosion wear resistance.
ODP comparison with other materials |
Adjacent diagram shows practically the way
in which various substances are worn down in an abrasive environment. The thickness of the layer worn away from a Oasis Diamond Plate, over a specific
period amounts to around 1/20 of that worn away from a plate made of standard S235JRG2 construction steel [Mild Steel].
Using Oasis Diamond Plates to reduce wear will increase the availability & service life of machines & production facilities.
Maintenance activities can be planned better, productivity increases while costs decrease. Oasis Diamond Plates - a summary of the advantages |
 | Optimum wear resistance to abrasion, erosion and blasting jets. |
 |
Low constant rate of wear, facilitates the planning of preventive
maintenance activities. | | Can be
reproduced easily thanks to CAD archiving of machining data and robot-aided manufacture. |
 | Very high degree of hardness combined with excellent forming characteristics for cold rolling
and bending. | | Considerable extension of service life thanks to excellent homogeneity and specific metallurgical properties. |
 | Base material has good welding characteristics. |
 | May be cut using plasma arc, water jet and laser
techniques. | | Uniform
surface in spite of large-area hard facing. | | Oasis service with application data base. | |
