Mostly Table and Rollers are made up of either with Ni-Hard IV or Duo-Cast type. These Alloyes had been considered basically unweldable.
Despite this from 10 years ago, some welding electrodes manufacture began to develop products and processes to rebuild parts with good results to date. Its possible to repeat 4 times the rebuilding of each set, and thanks to the enhanced wear resistance of the weld deposit, you can expect 30% additional life of each set and more than 33% saving in the spare parts and maintenance cost of the mill. To rebuild both the table and the rolls, the parameter & the special wire developed by OEM approved process, were followed. Special, self shielded, flux cored alloy wire specifically developed for the outdoor maintenance and repair welding of thick heavy components where faster weld depositing complex carboborides for wear-protective coating.
Re-welding is an efficient savior of the Table & Rolls subjected to severe wear, for its economics achieved over a period of time. It results in reduced maintenance cost ,total change of the components and mostly importantly, the shut down time. |
